The AWGA sponsors this new series which is designed
to provide the serious tournament golfers in the state
of Arizona the opportunity to hone and maintain their
competitive skills in the off-season in order that they
may be more competitive at the beginning and throughout
the summer competition season. The Challenge Series
is run by the participants. This years first event will
be held at Omni Tucson Golf Resort on November 30, 2005.The
second event will be at Club West in the Phoenix Area
on December 21, 2005. The course length for these events
will be between 5800 and 6000 yards, as you would find
at national and USGA events. The concept is to have
1 tournament a month from late fall to early spring.
Future scheduled events are:
April 6, 2006 - Superstition Mountain CC - Gold Canyon
Events are open to all golfers:
• Who were females at birth.
• Who are AWGA members in good standing for at
least 30 days prior to the Event.
• Who have a current USGA handicap index.
• Entrants must have an official USGA handicap
index of 9.9 or less on the date the event entries open.
