| In order to keep our Association strong and continue to fulfill our mission and purpose, it is imperative that we maintain an active and supportive committee structure to ensure that all aspects of our purpose are given proper priority and adequate attention. Committees are added and disbanded from time to time, as need dictates. It is our desire to give all qualified and interested members the opportunity to contribute to the success and fulfillment of the Association's mission. Volunteer Interest Form The Player Development Committee designs, recommends and administers instructional and developmental programs that:
• attract women and girls to play golf at whatever level fits their personal goals and abilities;
• introduce women to instructional resources and information for the development of the skills, knowledge, and enthusiasm to reach their potential as golfers
• encourage those with the talent to aspire to high levels of competition.
Current developmental programs include the Ambassador Program, the High School Girls Golf Build-a-TEAM Program, and the AWGA Golf Performance Series. The Communications Committee advises and assists the staff in areas pertaining to the Association web page, newsletter, club directory, as well as individual member and member club communications. Communications Committee members act as Area Advisers to interact with club AWGA Represenatives keeping information flowing. The Course Rating Committee rates Arizona courses for play by women in accordance with the USGA Course Rating System. In addition, they interact with all AWGA committees to enhance club participation with AWGA. The Handicap Committee oversees the operation of the Association's Handicap service, ensuring that it is operated in full compliance with the requirements of the USGA Handicap System. The Tournament Committee plans, executes and administers AWGA Tournaments. This Committee developes and implements procedures in support of Board policies and recommends policy changes to the Board of Directors; it is a resource for educating and assisting the membership and the public in the area of tournament administration. The Rules Committee members volunteer to serve as Rules Officials at AWGA tournaments, present Rules of Golf workshops, and serve as Rules Officials at other outside tournaments on behalf of the Association. The Volunteer Development Committee develops tools and procedures for recruiting, training, utilizing, acknowledging, and retiring the Arizona Women's Golf Association's volunteers. The Fundraising Committee identifies and implements fundraising strategies to ensure ongoing support of the organization as a public charity. The History Committee maintains a complete history of the structure and activities of the Association. They represent the AWGA on the Arizona Golf Hall of Fame Committee for annual inductees. The Document Control Committee outlines and manages the operations manual project. This Committee recommends the addition of and drafts new policies. Reviews by-laws and policies for consistency and makes recommendations for revisions. The Nominating Committee oversees the nomination and selection of candidates for election to the AWGA Board of Directors and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding the election procedures. The Finance Committee consists of the Treasurer, who chairs the Committee, the President, Executive Director, and one other member appointed by the Chair. Its purpose is to assist with preparation of the annual budget and recommend fiscal policy to the Board of Directors. The Financial Advisory is a Sub-Committee of the Finance Committee and consists of persons with professional expertise in the field of finance. Its purpose is to review the investment and cash flow management strategies of the association and make recommendations to the Finance Committee for maximum effective management of Association Funds.
